Uttam Nagar Tarun murder case: Delhi Police formed SIT, will now investigate the case, murder took place on Holi
The investigation of the Tarun murder case that took place on the day of Holi in Uttam Nagar of south-west Delhi has now been handed over to the Special Investigation Team (SIT). Considering the seriousness of the case, Delhi Police has constituted SIT, which will soon take charge of the investigation from the local police station. Now SIT will investigate this entire matter afresh. The team will closely investigate all aspects related to the incident, statements of witnesses and evidence. On the night of Holi, there was a dispute between two families in Uttam Nagar area, which soon turned into a violent clash. During this, 26 year old youth Tarun was murdered.
Delhi Police has so far arrested a total of 16 people in connection with the lynching of 26-year-old Tarun Kumar over a dispute over water balloons on the day of Holi in south-west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar. According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Saira alias Kali (40), Sarifan (50), Salma (36), Suhail alias Sahil (21), Sameer (20), Firoz (22) and Ismail (50). A minor is also included in these arrested accused. Earlier, the police had also arrested Umardin (49), Jummadin (36), Kamruddin (36), Mustaq (46), Muzaffar (25) and Tahir (18). Two minors have also been arrested in this case.

According to the police, this incident took place on March 4. It is alleged that 26-year-old Tarun Kumar was beaten to death following a dispute over a balloon filled with water. According to investigation, a girl from Tarun’s family was throwing water balloons from the roof of the house, which fell on a woman named Saira alias Kali who was passing by. An altercation started between the two families regarding this matter and the dispute escalated. Police say that when Tarun, unaware of this incident, was returning home after playing Holi with his friends, about 15-20 people surrounded him and beat him badly, due to which he was seriously injured. The injured Tarun was admitted to the hospital, but he died during treatment the next day.
Bulldozer action at accused’s house
Meanwhile, in the presence of Municipal Corporation and Delhi Police, a part of the three-storey house of main accused Umardin was demolished with a bulldozer. It is being told that this action was taken against illegal construction. After the incident, workers of many Hindu organizations also reached the area, although the police did not allow them to reach the house of the victim’s family due to security reasons.
Demand for encounter of the accused
Arun, elder brother of deceased Tarun, demanded strict action against the accused and said that he was not satisfied with the bulldozer action. “We demand encounter of the accused,” he said. At the same time, Tarun’s father has demanded a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) investigation into this entire matter, so that a fair investigation can be conducted into the incident and all the culprits can be given strict punishment.

CM Rekha Gupta encouraged
After the Tarun Kumar murder case, Rekha Gupta met the victim’s family. The Chief Minister met the family members of the deceased at the Delhi Government Secretariat and assured them of all possible assistance and said that the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances. The atmosphere became emotional during the meeting. It is being told that as soon as Tarun’s sister saw the Chief Minister, she hugged him and started crying. CM Rekha Gupta became emotional on this, hugged him and consoled him and assured the family of getting justice.
