Central government released the draft rules of VB-G RAM G, now legal guarantee of 125 days employment

New Delhi23 May. The Central Government on Saturday released the draft rules for public consultation under the VB-G RAM G Act. Notification has already been issued to implement this law in all states and union territories from July 1.

Objective of increasing legal guarantee of employment

Consultations have been invited from stakeholders before finalizing the draft rules as per Section 33 and other relevant provisions of the Act. Rural Development Ministry officials said the purpose of these rules is to establish the institutional, administrative, financial framework for the implementation of the Act across the country.

The Vikas Bharat – Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural) (VB-G Ram Ji) Act has replaced the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA). The new Act aims to increase the legal guarantee of employment from 100 days to 125 days in a financial year.
