Supreme Court takes suo motu cognizance of Twisha Sharma case, bench headed by CJI will hear on May 25
Supreme Court on Twisha Sharma Death Case: In the Twisha Sharma death case, the Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance and taken the matter into its own hands. Twisha’s family members have blamed her husband and in-laws living in Bhopal for her death. The Supreme Court itself took cognizance of the matter and listed it for hearing on May 25. Apart from Chief Justice Surya Kant, this bench will also include Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice Vipul M Pancholi.
Why did the Supreme Court take suo motu cognizance?
Questions are being raised on the investigation of Twisha Sharma’s death case in Madhya Pradesh. There are also allegations in this case that due to the interference of the judiciary, the case is not being investigated properly. CJI Surya Kant believes that the image of the judiciary is being tarnished due to these allegations.
In such a situation, the Chief Justice believes that the matter should be investigated by an independent agency. Which reached to the bottom by thoroughly investigating this matter in an unbiased manner. Therefore, the CJI has given instructions to take suo motu cognizance of the case and list it for hearing on Monday.
