Tribal society from all over the country will gather in Delhi on the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, Amit Shah will be the chief guest.

Janjatiya Sanskritik Samagam Red Fort: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will today inaugurate a grand ‘Tribal Cultural Samagam’ to be organized in the historic Red Fort complex of Delhi. Will attend as chief guest. This event is being organized to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of tribal hero Lord Birsa Munda. Around 1.5 lakh representatives from more than 550 tribal communities across the country are expected to participate in this mega cultural gathering.

The event is being organized to celebrate tribal identity, indigenous traditions and cultural heritage as well as to honor the contribution of tribal communities to India’s history and nation-building.

The procession will start from five different places

Before the conclave, an important preparatory meeting was held at Shyam Giri Temple in Delhi. In this, arrangements related to participation, cultural programs, logistics and security were reviewed by the organizers and community representatives. This conference was organized by ‘Janjati Suraksha Manch’ It is being organized by and is expected to be one of the largest tribal gatherings to be organized in the national capital.

Organizers said that colorful cultural processions of tribal men and women dressed in traditional costumes, carrying their traditional musical instruments, will start from five different places in Delhi and finally converge at the main site at the Red Fort.

100 distinguished tribal personalities will be honored

The event will also feature tribal folk dances, traditional music, handicrafts and exhibitions showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the tribal communities of different states. Around 100 distinguished tribal personalities from fields like sports, education, social service and culture are also expected to be honored during the event.

For the first time tribals from across the country will participate

Organizers said this would be the first time that such a large number of tribal participants, from remote forest and hilly areas across India, would be gathering in the national capital for a cultural event of this scale.

To ensure smooth functioning of the programme, around 20 departments along with several committees have been deployed to manage key arrangements. These arrangements include accommodation, transportation, food, drinking water, medical facilities, security and sanitation at various places in Delhi.

Request to show it as a national program

Media organizations were requested to give wide coverage to the event. Also present it as an important national event aimed at promoting the unity, cultural pride and rich traditions of the tribal communities of India.

Lord Birsa Munda is remembered as one of India’s most respected tribal freedom fighters, who led a massive resistance movement against British rule and fought to protect tribal faith, identity and traditions.
