Main objective of the scheme and strict eligibility conditions
This scheme was originally started in the year 2006, but in Uttar Pradesh it has been made extremely transparent and strong by linking it with the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. Earlier under this scheme, assistance of ₹ 20,000 was given, which was later increased to ₹ 30,000. The main objective of the government is to rescue the families living below the poverty line (BPL) from this sudden severe economic crisis.

The application process is completely online and transparent

Important information: There is no option of offline application available in this scheme. Applicant can directly visit the official website of the scheme nfbs.upsdc.gov.in You have to go to and fill your digital registration form. After selecting your district on the portal, you have to fill your personal information and hard bank details so that the assistance amount can be sent directly to the account.

It is mandatory to upload clear scanned copies of the below mentioned documents while filling the form on the portal:

Family BPL Ration Card
applicant’s Aadhar card
Clear photocopy of bank passbook (having IFSC code clearly)
Residence Certificate and Income Certificate (attested by Tehsildar)
Age certificate of the deceased
Active mobile number and passport size photograph of the applicant.
After the digital form is submitted, physical verification of the documents is done at the local level by the officials of Gram Panchayat (for rural areas) or Municipal Body (for urban areas). If the verification process is found to be correct, an amount of ₹30,000 is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account within just 30 to 60 days.

Ground reports coming from districts like Meerut, Kanpur and Lucknow suggest that the district administration has now tightened and expedited the process of linking death certificates to Aadhaar cards to speed up the disposal of applications.
