Panic due to incidents of theft in Masaurhi, jewelery and cash worth lakhs stolen from house in Dhanrua.

Dhanrua/Masauri:- There is an atmosphere of panic among the people due to the continuously increasing incidents of theft in Masauri sub-division area. The latest case is of Guldiya Bigha village of Dhanrua police station area, where unknown thieves entered a house and stole jewellery, cash and important documents worth lakhs of rupees. The victim’s family has filed a written application at Dhanrua police station and registered an FIR, demanding action.
The victim Kumar Gaurav, father Shashankar Prasad alias Buddhi Prasad, resident of village Guldiya Bigha, told in the application given to the police that on May 22, between around 12 noon and 2:30 am, unknown thieves entered their house. At that time all the family members were sleeping deeply. The thieves broke the lock of the briefcase and box kept in the room of the house and stole the valuables kept in it.
According to the victim, the stolen items include many gold ornaments, which include Kanphool, Jhumka, Locket, Kanbali, Nathiya, Mangalsutra, Mangtika and other ornaments. Apart from this, the thieves also took away silver anklets, bowl, other jewellery, about Rs 20 thousand in cash, land documents and educational certificates of matriculation, intermediate and graduation of her younger sister Supriya Kumari.
The victim’s family told that the estimated value of the stolen jewelery is said to be around Rs 3 to 4 lakh. The incident came to light in the morning when the family members came down from the terrace and saw household items scattered. After this, information was immediately given on dial 112. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took stock of the incident.
There is an atmosphere of panic in the area after the incident. Local people say that incidents of theft are continuously increasing in Masaudhi and surrounding areas, due to which there is fear among the people. The villagers have demanded the police administration to increase night patrolling and stop the incidents of theft. Dhanrua police station has confirmed receipt of the application and started investigating the case.
