LSG captaincy can be snatched from Rishabh Pant?: Team director Tom Moody gave hints through gestures
IPL 2026 Updates: IPL 2026 was very disappointing for Rishabh Pant. Pant, who is captaining Lucknow Super Giants, could neither make an impact with the bat nor could manage the team. LSG looked disintegrated throughout the season and on many occasions questions were raised over captaincy decisions. SSG was the first team to be eliminated this season.

Pant scored 312 runs in 13 innings this season, but he could score half-centuries only twice. After losing to Punjab Kings, LSG’s journey ended with just 8 points. After the poor performance of the team, Pant’s captaincy is now under threat.
After the defeat to Punjab Kings, the statement of Lucknow Super Giants Director of Cricket Tom Moody was the most discussed. Moody clearly said that the team did not perform up to its level this season and now the entire season will be reviewed with a calm mind.
He also raised questions on the captaincy through gestures. Moody said that what the leadership of the team will be like in the future will have to be seriously considered. His statement clearly indicated that LSG management may make changes in the captaincy model before the next season.
Moody also admitted that the team now needs a “reset”. This means that not only the playing eleven or combination, but also big changes can be seen in the thinking and leadership of the team. In such a situation, after the bad season, questions on Rishabh Pant’s captaincy have become more intense.

Here, Pant did not get a place in India’s white-ball team for the Afghanistan series, while the vice-captaincy of the Test team has also now been handed over to KL Rahul. In such a situation, Pant, who is going through a bad phase, now faces a big challenge to prove himself.
