New Delhi. South Indian film industry superstar Ram Charan is busy these days promoting his upcoming film ‘Peddi’. In this series, he recently reached Bhopal, where the music launch event of the film was organized. During this program, a minor but much talked about mistake caught everyone’s attention.
During the event, a rapid fire session was held on the stage, in which Ram Charan was asked questions about the legendary players of the Indian cricket team. When questions were asked about Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Ram Charan answered them in a very casual manner. But when it came to fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, the actor made a big mistake.
Ram Charan called Bumrah a footballer instead of a cricketer. He said that he is a big fan of Bumrah and feels proud to see him taking football forward. As soon as this statement came on social media, it quickly went viral and people started giving different reactions to it.
Hours after the video went viral, Ram Charan realized his mistake and publicly apologized to Bumrah on social media platform ‘X’ late at night. He wrote in his post that sometimes he makes a mistake regarding the names and it was a human error, which happened amidst the crowd and excitement of the event.
Ram Charan also said in his apology that he is a big fan of Jasprit Bumrah’s game and when he continuously pushes the batsmen on the backfoot, every Indian feels proud. He also expressed his deep respect for Bumrah. After this entire incident, fans and social media users gave mixed reactions, while some people called it a common human mistake, while some took it in a light-hearted manner.
It is noteworthy that Buchi Babu Sana is directing Ram Charan’s film ‘Peddi’. Jhanvi Kapoor will be seen in the lead role with Ram Charan in this film. Actors like Shiv Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu and Divyendu are also playing important roles in the film. This film will be released in theaters on June 4, 2026.
