INDIA Bloc Meeting: Now INDIA alliance leaders will meet every two months, consensus reached on these five issues, said Kharge
New Delhi. The Indian alliance of opposition parties has demanded the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the matter of leaking of medical entrance exam NEET papers and irregularities in CBSE and said that the government should call an all-party meeting to consider the economic situation of the country.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said in a press conference after the meeting of the India Alliance at the Constitution Club here on Monday that lasted for about two and a half hours, that five issues were agreed upon in the meeting, which includes organizing a meeting every two months to maintain coordination among the leaders of the India Alliance. On this basis, the next meeting of the alliance will be held in Hyderabad on August 8.
He said that it was also agreed in the meeting that a letter should be sent to the Chief Justice of the country regarding ‘vote theft’ and election rigging. This letter will be written and delivered to them very soon. In the NEET paper leak case, it was unanimously decided that the Education Minister should resign immediately. Kharge said that in the meeting, a demand was made to the government to call an all-party meeting on the country’s economic situation and social issues.
He said “The central government should immediately call a meeting of all parties to discuss the current unstable economic situation, unemployment, inflation, farmers’ issues, atrocities and other people-centric issues.” The Congress President said that it was also agreed in the meeting that the leaders of all the parties should meet every two months. Along with this, parliamentary coordination will continue during the monsoon session, in which meetings will be held in the office of the Leader of the Opposition every day before the commencement of the Parliament proceedings.
Apart from Kharge, Congress Parliamentary Party leader Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Supriya Sule, MK Premchandran, Kapil Sibal, leaders of Left parties and representatives of other constituent parties participated in the meeting. Kharge said that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray attended the meeting through virtual medium.
Consensus reached on these issues among leaders of India Block
- It was agreed among the leaders of the alliance that a letter would be sent to the Chief Justice of India regarding the SIR and manipulation of voter lists and fairness of the elections. This letter will be handed over to him soon.
- In view of the many serious issues affecting lakhs of students, it was unanimously decided that the Education Minister should resign immediately. This is because during his tenure, lakhs of youth have been betrayed in the NEET and CBSE examinations. The result is that today lakhs of youth are standing on the streets.
- We will continue to raise the issues of the current serious economic situation, increasing unemployment, inflation, atrocities and farmers. The Central Government should call an all-party meeting on issues of public concern, in which we will put all these issues before them.
- All parties of the INDIA alliance will meet every two months. Our next meeting will be in Hyderabad in August.
- Parliamentary coordination will continue during the monsoon session and coordination meetings will be held every morning in the office of the Leader of Opposition.
