Lottery started for ration card holders of Bihar: Government made this big announcement

Bihar government has given a huge gift to the elders and senior citizens of the state. Keeping in mind their convenience and health, the government has taken a very sensitive and important decision. Now, ration card holders of 80 years of age or above in the state will not have to stand in long queues at Public Distribution System (PDS) shops to get food grains.

Bihar government has decided to take up the responsibility of personally delivering ration to the homes of all such elderly beneficiaries. This step of the government is expected to provide huge relief to lakhs of elderly people in the state.

This special arrangement is going to be implemented from next month

According to the information coming out, this excellent system will be implemented in the entire state from next month. For this, the Food and Consumer Protection Department has geared up and has also prepared a detailed action plan. The main objective of starting this entire scheme is to help those elderly citizens who had to face a lot of difficulties in walking to the ration shop due to old age or poor health.

About 6.87 lakh families of the state will get direct benefits

If government figures are to be believed, the number of ration card holding families above 80 years of age in Bihar is around 6.87 lakh. If we talk about the total beneficiaries living in these families, then this number comes to around 28 lakhs. All these people are going to directly benefit from this new initiative of the government. Especially for the elderly living in rural areas, this scheme will prove to be no less than a boon, because in villages people often have to walk long distances to get ration.

Kotdar himself will come to your house and deliver grains

To implement this new system, the government has decided to hand over the responsibility to the shopkeepers of the Public Distribution System (PDS). Now these shopkeepers will deliver food grains to the homes of the designated beneficiaries. To prevent black marketing of ration and to make distribution easier, the grains will be pre-packed, so that when it reaches the elderly, it will be completely organized. The government believes that by using the already existing PDS network, this scheme will be implemented very quickly and accurately.

Shopkeepers will get extra money for delivering ration at home

It is often seen that tenants are reluctant when the new system is implemented, but the government has taken full care of this too. PDS shopkeepers will be given additional financial assistance from the government for this work of door-to-door distribution of ration. In this, the expenses incurred in taking the grains to the home will not only be compensated, but an incentive will also be given to the shopkeepers. This will boost the morale of ration shopkeepers and they will fully cooperate in making this scheme successful.

Biometric verification will be done at home, there is no scope for error

To maintain transparency in this entire scheme and prevent any kind of rigging, the government has also taken the help of technology. When the ration reaches your home, the identity of the beneficiary will also be confirmed on the spot. After handing over the grains, biometric verification will be done by getting the thumb impression of the beneficiary. This will make it very easy to monitor the entire distribution process online and the possibility of theft of ration or any kind of irregularities will be completely eliminated.
