Political turmoil increased due to the meeting of TMC MPs in Delhi, speculations of split in the party intensified.
Tezzbuzz Desk- These days the turmoil in the politics of West Bengal has intensified. A meeting held in Delhi amid discussions of discontent and possible rebellion within the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has sparked a new debate in political circles. According to reports, many TMC MPs met Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, after which speculations about a possible break in the party have intensified.
According to political sources, many TMC MPs were present in this meeting. Some reports have also claimed that Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Subhendu Adhikari was also present in the meeting. However, no official information has been revealed from any side regarding the meeting.
Amidst this development, TMC suffered another blow when Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Roy resigned from his post and primary membership of the party. His resignation comes at a time when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is attending important meetings of the INDIA alliance of opposition parties in Delhi.
After the resignation of Sukhendu Shekhar Roy, political discussions have become more intense. Opposition leaders say that dissatisfaction has been growing within the party for a long time, which is now coming out openly. There has been no detailed response from TMC yet on this entire incident.
TMC holds 13 out of 17 Rajya Sabha seats in West Bengal. In such a situation, if more MPs leave the party in future, its impact can be seen not only at the state politics but also at the national level. At present, all eyes are on TMC leadership and upcoming political developments.
