‘Bibi, you better be careful’, Trump warned Netanyahu regarding attack on Iran

New Delhi: A big revelation has come to light amid increasing tension in West Asia. US President Donald Trump has claimed that he had directly called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop the proposed attack on Iran. According to Trump, he had warned Netanyahu in clear words that if the situation was further escalated, Israel could be isolated at the international level.

According to American media reports, Israel was preparing for the biggest military operation against Iran since April. Under the plan, many important targets were to be targeted. The report says that as soon as America got information about this preparation, President Trump contacted Prime Minister Netanyahu. During the conversation, Trump advised them to exercise restraint and avoid any major attack.

Trump later told a news channel that he had told Netanyahu that he should proceed with caution because continued military action could alienate Israel from international support. Trump told on Monday that, "I said, ‘Bibi, you should be careful, otherwise very soon you will be alone (or have to fight the battle alone).’" Let us tell you that Bibi is the nickname of Netanyahu.

Strategy changed after phone call

Quoting Israeli officials, the report said that differences of opinion on some issues came to light between the two leaders over the phone. However, at the end of the talks, an understanding was reached, under which Israel would stop its proposed attacks if there was no new military action from Iran. According to sources, after the talks, Netanyahu instructed his senior military officers to cancel the planned attacks. This helped in reducing the increasing tension in the area to some extent.

Currently military action between Israel and Iran has stopped

After the recent developments, both the countries have indicated that direct military confrontation has been stopped for the time being. However, the recent attacks had once again brought the entire West Asia to the brink of major conflict. Shortly after Tehran’s announcement of stopping military action, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also said that the situation on that front is under control and the tension has reduced at the moment.

How did the tension increase?

On Sunday, Iran fired missiles towards Israel in protest against the ongoing Israeli military action against Hezbollah in Lebanon. In response, Israel also took military action. Although America was trying to stop the conflict from escalating, the situation became more tense after the retaliatory action. After this Iran launched another round of missiles, after which a ceasefire was finally announced. Iran has consistently said that Israel’s military activities in Lebanon are a threat to regional stability and that it will be forced to respond if these attacks continue.

Both countries warned

Although the situation seems calm at present, both sides have given strong statements regarding the future. Tehran has made it clear that if attacks continue in Lebanon, it may take action again. At the same time, Netanyahu warned that if there is any attack on Israel again, it will be responded with full force. Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz had also said that the military operation in Lebanon will continue and every attack on northern Israel will be responded to.

Growing differences between America and Israel

Analysts believe that recent events also show the growing difference in strategic thinking between America and Israel. Both the countries have been allies for a long time, but in the current situation their political and security interests do not seem to be completely the same.

According to the report, Trump’s priority is to limit the war in the region and reduce tensions, while Netanyahu wants to maintain a tough stance on security issues due to domestic political circumstances. An American official was quoted as saying that both the leaders face different political challenges. In such a situation, their priorities regarding war and peace also appear different. This is why in recent times differences between Washington and Tel Aviv on many issues have come to the fore.
