Preparations for the metro project in Prayagraj have intensified and track construction work is likely to start soon. This project has been prepared keeping in mind the increasing population and traffic pressure of the city.
Metro will run within a radius of 65 kilometers
According to the proposed plan, Prayagraj Metro will operate on a network of approximately 65 kilometers long. For this, about 45 metro stations will be built in the city. The main station of the project will be developed in the Parade Ground area, which will become the main hub for connecting various routes.
The special thing is that a large part of the metro will pass through the military area. This will further strengthen connectivity between many important areas of the city. After the commencement of Metro, thousands of passengers are expected to get relief from traffic jam every day.
Operations will take place on two major corridors
Two main routes have been proposed for Prayagraj Metro. The first corridor will go from Bamrauli to City Lake Jhunsi, while the second corridor will be developed from Shantipuram to Chhivki.
Airports, railway stations, confluence areas, residential colonies and business centers will be connected through these two routes. This will significantly reduce travel time within the city and will provide a new option to public transport.
Big facility will be available before Mahakumbh 2027
Crores of devotees reach Prayagraj every time during Kumbh and Magh Mela. Keeping in mind the Mahakumbh 2027, the government is laying special emphasis on improving the connectivity of the city.
Apart from the metro project, road, railway and air connectivity is also being strengthened. With this, devotees and tourists coming from India and abroad will be able to get better transportation facilities. Experts believe that the opening of Metro will also give a big boost to religious tourism.
