Buying a new smartphone and selling or exchanging an old smartphone has become a very common thing these days. However, some people make very common mistakes and ignore certain things while selling smartphones. Due to which the data present in the smartphone is not deleted properly and the privacy of the users may be in danger. Backup your data first
It is important to take a backup before deleting all the data on the phone. First of all, save all the important data present in your smartphone in a safe place. You can use cloud storage like Google Drive, iCloud or OneDrive to save your phone’s data. You can transfer data from your phone to laptop/hard drive. This will keep your memories and important files safe and you will not face any problems later.

Don’t forget to log out of all accounts
Deleting all data from your phone is not enough. It is also important to log out of your account. For Android users, it’s important to sign out of your Google Account. Turn off Find My Device. Delete all accounts associated with it. If you’re an iPhone user, log out of your Apple ID. Turn off Find My iPhone. Delete your iCloud account from your device. Skipping this step may cause problems for new users in activating the phone.

Delete Banking and UPI Apps
Banking and payment apps are the most sensitive on your smartphone. Therefore, it is important to delete these apps from the smartphone and delete all the information contained in them. Log out of banking apps. Close UPI and digital wallet accounts. Also delete saved passwords. Simply uninstalling apps doesn’t completely delete the data, so it’s important to log out as well.

When complete backup and logout, do a factory reset. This will delete all photos and videos from the phone. Apps and settings will be deleted. Account and system data will be completely wiped. For better security, some people do this twice so that no data is lost.
