Mirzapur: After joining the wedding procession in Amdah village of Drummondganj police station area on Sunday night, a bike rider who was going to join the second wedding procession died after falling into the canal located in Semra Kalan village. The deceased bike rider remained lying in the canal throughout the night. On receiving information from the villagers, the police arrived on Monday morning, investigated the incident and sent the body for post-mortem.
33-year-old Sunil Kumar, resident of Rampur Boda village of Santnagar police station area, had come to Amdah village to join the marriage procession that came from his relative Gangashire village. Where after attending the wedding procession, he left on bike around 9.30 pm to join the wedding procession at his brother’s in-laws’ house in Manikpur village of Lalganj area. When he reached Semra Kalan village, two kilometers ahead of Amdah village, he went out of control at the turn of the road and fell into the canal. The seriously injured bike rider died.
On Monday morning, when the villagers who had gone towards the canal for defecation saw the bike rider lying dead in the canal, they informed the police about the incident. Police reached the spot after receiving information and investigated the incident and sent the body for post-mortem. Ravi Shankar, brother-in-law of the deceased bike rider, told that brother-in-law Sunil Kumar had gone from Gangashire village of Dubar area to Amdah village to join the marriage procession. From there, after 9.30 pm, they were going by bike to Manikpur village of Lalganj to join the second marriage procession.
That he died after falling into the canal from his bike on the way. In this regard, Police Station Head Bharat Suman said that the bike rider Sunil Kumar, a resident of Santnagar police station area, who was going to join the second marriage procession after attending the wedding procession in Amdah village in the area, has died after falling into the canal. The incident has been investigated and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
