Conflict increases in TMC: Kirti Azad calls rebel MPs ‘traitors’, says – ‘If there is trouble then leave the party’

Kolkata, June 9. Trinamool Congress MP Kirti Azad has termed the MPs who rebelled against the party as ‘traitors’. Raising questions on political morality, he bluntly said that if they (rebel MPs) have problems then they should leave the party. There are talks of about 20 MPs rebelling after the defeat in West Bengal. While addressing a press conference on Tuesday, TMC MP Kirti Azad said, “29 TMC MPs had won in West Bengal in the name of ‘Maa-Mati-Manush’. One of them has passed away, so 28 MPs are left.”

Furious at the 20 rebel MPs, Kirti Azad said, “I want to know from the ‘traitors’ that if you were facing problems, then why did you express this problem after the elections. You should have expressed this problem before the elections. After the elections, you also made many allegations. Sukhendu Shekhar Roy made allegations. Whether he is right or wrong is a matter of investigation. However, as a matter of morality, he resigned from TMC. If you (rebel) MPs) also have political morality so you should also resign.”

He said, “Even if they (BJP) take these people (MPs), then NDA is not a party but an organization. First, it is not clear how many MPs are with you. Whether the number is two-thirds or not. Even if I accept your lie that you have 20-22 MPs as true, then you will have to merge with BJP.” Kirti Azad said, “If this is your intention, then say it openly, instead of betraying the workers who have built the party. When those workers are beaten up by BJP workers, will you (rebel MPs) support them?”

The TMC MP said, “Such leaders should be ashamed. They are regretting the plate in which they ate.” During this, Kirti Azad also gave a sharp reaction on Kakoli Ghosh. He said, “What corruption happened to Kakoli Ghosh. She was made an MP by Mamata Banerjee. She had lost the elections five times. The letter which you have given to the Speaker should be brought out.”
