Amidst this entire controversy, a name emerged which surprised people. During the investigation and statements, Pakistani Dr. Israr Ahmed started being mentioned. The shocking thing is that Dr. Israr Ahmed passed away in the year 2010. In such a situation, questions began to arise that why was his name being taken in this case and who was he?
What is the whole matter of Shamli?
According to the information, Ayush Malik had accepted Islam religion about 12 years ago and later married a girl named Chandni Qureshi. After religious conversion, his name is said to be Mohammad Ali. Recently, this matter came into limelight when the family alleged that Ayush’s conversion was done under some influence or conspiracy. After this, the police started investigation on the basis of the complaint and a case was registered.
Why did Dr. Israr Ahmed’s name come up?
After the statement of Shamli SP, this matter came into further discussion. While talking to the media, SP Narendra Pratap Singh said, “Dr. Israr is a religious leader of Pakistan, you must have seen his many videos which keep on playing. His job is to give feasts so that people of other religions adopt Islam. I think AYUSH is also in touch with him.”
What did Warish Pathan say?
On this matter, AIMIM leader Warish Pathan raised questions on the police statement. He said, “Ayush Malik, Mohammad Ali have said in front of the media that no one forced me, I have become a Muslim of my own free will and by keeping a beard, I have followed the Sunnah of God, I offer Namaz, there was no pressure on me from anyone, my wife and father-in-law are being harassed a lot.”
He further said, “Not only this, a senior official of Shamli is telling the media that he may still be in contact with Dr. Israr Ahmed, who is a Pakistani scholar, whereas the reality is that Dr. Israr Ahmed passed away in 2010. Only propaganda and false illusions are being spread against Muslims.”
Who was Dr. Israr Ahmed?
Dr. Israr Ahmed was a well-known Islamic theologian, speaker and thinker of Pakistan. He was known for propagating Quran-based teachings and ideas related to Islamic renaissance. He founded an organization called ‘Tanzeem-e-Islami’, whose objective was to promote Islamic values and teachings in the society. Dr. Israr Ahmed was born on 26 April 1932 in Hisar, India. After partition, his family moved to Pakistan, where he pursued his education and public life.
He obtained his medical degree from King Edward Medical College, Lahore in 1954. However, later his inclination moved towards religious studies and he did MA in Islamic Studies from Karachi University in 1965. He was considered a supporter of Islamic revival and the influence of Islamic thinker Maulana Abul Ala Maududi was seen on his thoughts. Dr. Israr Ahmed died of a heart attack on 14 April 2010 at his residence in Lahore. At that time his age was 77 years. This is the reason that after the controversy over his name, many questions have been raised in social media and political circles.
