Big decision of BCCI, Mohammad Siraj out of T20 series, entry of this deadly bowler in the team

New Delhi: Before the Ireland and England series, the selectors have made changes in the Indian T20 team. For these tours, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj has been removed from the team and young fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been included in his place. This change is being considered important because the selectors have taken this decision after the concerns expressed by the BCCI medical team regarding Siraj’s workload management.

Workload management became the reason

Mohammad Siraj is not suffering from any kind of injury or fitness problem. The upcoming international season of the Indian team is going to be very long and busy. Keeping this in mind, the team management and medical council had recommended giving a break to Siraj. The board made it clear that this decision has been taken as a precautionary measure, so that Siraj can remain completely fresh and match-fit during the big tournaments and Test series in the coming times.

Part of T20 World Cup teams

Mohammed Siraj was part of the 2026 ODI World Cup and 2026 T20 World Cup teams. He also played the only test match against Afghanistan. It was decided not to include him in the teams for the Ireland and England series. Siraj has taken 17 wickets in 17 T20 matches.

Prasidh Krishna returns to the team

With Siraj out, the fortunes of tall right-arm fast bowler Prasidh Krishna have improved. This will be a golden opportunity for Krishna to prove himself on foreign soil. The conditions in Ireland and England are generally favorable for fast bowlers, so Krishna’s presence will strengthen the Indian pace attack. Prasidh Krishna has taken 8 wickets in 5 T20 matches for the Indian team. He performed brilliantly while playing for Gujarat Titans (GT) in IPL 2026 and took 16 wickets in 12 matches. Two T20 matches are to be played in Ireland and five in England.

Siraj took 19 wickets in IPL

Despite playing all 17 matches and taking 19 wickets for Gujarat Titans in the 2026 IPL, Siraj was a late inclusion in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. This right-arm fast bowler was also a part of the Indian team for the only Test match against Afghanistan, which ended within three days on Monday.
