A call for peace in the Middle East? Trump said- We are very close to the agreement

New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tension and uncertainty in the Middle East, US President Donald Trump has given a big statement regarding a possible agreement with Iran. He claimed that there is a possibility of agreement on some important agreement between the two countries within the coming two to three days. Although Trump did not clarify what was the basis of his confidence, he indicated that the talks were moving in a positive direction.

What did Trump say?

Trump said that the possibility of a strong and effective agreement between America and Iran appears closer than ever. He also said that America has the ability to continue military action, but he does not support any option that would lead to large-scale casualties. According to him, it would be more appropriate to find a diplomatic solution instead of escalating the conflict further.

The President’s statement is being considered important at a time when tension still persists in the region and the situation remains sensitive on many fronts. Trump made it clear that despite maintaining military pressure, his priority is to find a solution through dialogue.

Meanwhile, the biggest dispute between America and Iran remains regarding Iran’s stockpile of highly enriched uranium. Washington wants Tehran to liquidate its high-enriched uranium stockpile or accept tighter controls. US officials believe that this material may still exist in secure locations inside Iran, despite recent military operations and airstrikes.

On the other hand, Iran does not seem ready to accept this demand. Tehran’s priority is to obtain relief from economic sanctions, release of assets stuck abroad and trade concessions. However, there are indications that the Trump administration is not in favor of fully accepting these demands.

Question on America’s intentions

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has also raised questions on America’s intentions. He says that the recent American statements do not match the points on which consensus was said to be reached during the earlier talks. He alleged that America is not showing enough seriousness towards a permanent and credible ceasefire.

Meanwhile, security related challenges also remain in the area. A US military helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz, although according to Trump, all the people aboard are safe. Instead of reducing the tension between Iran and Israel, it seems to be becoming more complicated due to new developments.

The impact of regional conflict is not limited to security only, but it is also affecting the global economy and energy supply. The situation also remains tense in Lebanon, where Israel has issued new warnings for southern areas. In such a situation, the eyes of the world are now fixed on America-Iran talks and possible agreement.
