Jayant Chaudhary gave the green signal: Digital education and employment training will reach every village through Solar Skill Van.
New Delhi, June 9. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, Jayant Chaudhary flagged off five new Solar Community Hub Skill Vans on Tuesday. The objective of this initiative is to increase digital reach across the country and provide skill training to the youth as per the future needs.
Dell Technologies has developed this initiative in collaboration with NSDC.
This initiative has been developed by Dell Technologies in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and is being implemented by Learning Links Foundation. This is the next phase of Dell’s global efforts to bridge the digital divide through technology-based education.
These skill vans will be deployed in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra. Through these, solar energy based technology, artificial intelligence (AI) supported learning tools and employment-oriented training will be directly delivered to youth, women and underprivileged communities.

According to the government, each van is equipped with laptops, interactive screens, internet connectivity and renewable energy systems. These are specially designed to provide customized skill training modules and structured employment linked facilities. Additionally, the program will also extend technology-based learning support to more than 50 vocational, higher education and community institutions.

Jayant Chaudhary said on the occasion that the Solar Community Hub Skill Vans are a symbol of the shared commitment to make technology and opportunities accessible across the country. He said that these vans are not just digital education centres, but aspiration centers that integrate clean energy, AI based education and skill training tailored to industry needs, to prepare the youth for emerging opportunities.
The objective of this van is to prepare youth for future employment.

He said the program exemplifies the power of collaboration between government, industry and communities. He said that the objective of Skill Van is to prepare the youth for future employment while living in their own communities.
This program has reached 18 districts of 14 states
Since the launch of the first Solar Community Hub Skill Van in FY 2022-23, the program has reached 18 districts in 14 states and directly benefited 26.7 lakh people. Globally, this initiative is being operated through 63 Skill Vans in 12 countries.
