The State Rural Development Department has prepared a very special and new draft. Under this, if laborers in rural areas do not get work or remain idle, the government will give them unemployment allowance for those days also. This historic proposal will very soon be presented before the Yogi Cabinet for approval. There will be no shortage of money in off season, you will get money even for sitting idle

In fact, the Uttar Pradesh government is gearing up to fully implement the Central Government’s very ambitious ‘Vikas Bharat-Ji Ram Ji’ (VB Jeeramji) scheme in the state. The most special thing about this scheme is that when the season of sowing and harvesting of crops ends and the laborers have no work left in the fields, then during that ‘no work’ period (days of sitting idle), the government will give them unemployment allowance sitting at home. According to the preparations of the Rural Development Department, a big target has been set to completely implement it in the state by July 2026. This means that now the workers’ pockets will not remain empty even in the off season.

New ‘VB Jiramji’ scheme will replace MNREGA, rules will change

The Central Government has now started this new and hi-tech ‘VB Jeeramji’ scheme in place of the traditional MGNREGA. Now Uttar Pradesh is going to implement this central law by further improving it as per its rules. According to the draft prepared by the Rural Development Department, all the laborers currently registered under MNREGA will not only get the benefit of this new scheme, but new rural laborers will also be included in this campaign on a large scale so that no one is left behind.

Guarantee of employment now for 125 days instead of 100, money will come in 15 days

Under this new scheme, the guarantee of employment days for rural families has been significantly increased, which is as follows:

• Annual Employment: Now the 100 days of employment provided to every rural family has been increased to 125 days. This means that now there will be more work and more earnings.
• Farming Season: 60 days have been earmarked for laborers during the busy season of sowing and harvesting.
• Payment of wages: Out of the remaining 305 days, workers will get guaranteed employment for 125 days. The biggest relief is that the payment of daily wages will be transferred directly to the bank account of the worker every week or in any case within 15 days of the completion of the work. Now you will not have to wait for months for money.

Payment will be completely digital, corruption will be curbed

The government has made strict arrangements to prevent any kind of corruption, middlemen or irregularities in the scheme. Full payment to the workers will be made directly into their accounts in online digital mode. Apart from this, to maintain transparency and honesty, there will be continuous physical verification and direct feedback will be taken from the workers themselves whether they are facing any problem.

Under this scheme, mainly these development works will be given priority for the rejuvenation of villages:

• Work related to water conservation and preventing wastage of water.
• Agricultural development and works to improve ground water level.
• Construction of metalled roads and strengthening connectivity in rural areas.
