A Huge Drop In The Stock Market! Sensex Breaks Down 471 Points To Close At 48,690, 27 Out Of 30 Stocks Fell!
There was a huge sell-off in the stock market on Wednesday. Share market today saw a decline for the second consecutive day. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex closed down 471 points, or 0.96 per cent, at 48,690.80. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty of the National Stock Exchange fell 154 points, or 1.04 per cent, to close at 14,696. 27 out of 30 stocks on the BSE were in loss today. Only 7 had an edge. All the others are closed in red marks. Today, private banks, metal and OIL & GAS stocks were the biggest losers. Except auto, power, almost all sector indices have seen a decline. Let us tell you that BSE Sensex was down 240 points, or 0.49 per cent, at 48,921.64 in the morning. At the same time, Nifty50 opened at 14,786.30, down by 64.45 points or 0.43 per cent. According to the information given on the BSE, the market will be closed tomorrow on 13 May 2021 on the occasion of Eid.

Today, TITAN shares rose the most on BSE Sensex. This is followed by MARUTI, POWER GRID, SBI, NTPC, DR. The shares of REDDY, ASIAN PAINT and LT were seen to be rising. At the same time, IndusInd Bank was among the worst performing stocks today. After this, the share of Hindustan unilever declined. IndusInd Bank and Hindustan unilever shares fell more than 3-3 per cent. ONGC, ICICI BANK, AXIS BANK and KOTAK BANK fell more than 2 per cent. After this, shares of big companies including M&M, Tech Mahindra, Ultra Cement, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, TCS, Nestle India declined.

If you talk about the best performing stocks, then TSE MOTORS, TITAN, MARUTI, POWER GRID and CIPLA were shares on the NSE today. On the other hand, underperforming stocks were TATA STEEL, HINDALCO, JSW STEEL, IndusInd Bank and BPCL.

Today, at the time of closing the market, shares of a total of 3,233 companies were traded. Of these, 1,586 closed at the edge and 1,488 declined. Today the total market cap was Rs 2 crore 12 lakhs.
Poor signal from international market
There have been very poor signals from the international market. Taiwan stock exchange broke 8 percent today due to fear of increasing Covid crisis. This was the worst day of this exchange in the last 26 years. Similarly, other Asian stock markets have also fallen due to other concerns like inflation. The Indian rupee today lost 15 paise to open at 73.49 against the US dollar. The rupee had closed at 73.34 on Tuesday.
