Easy recipe to make instant mango-mirchi pickle-
Material
- 2 cups raw mango (cut into pieces)
- 8 to 10 green chillies (sliced)
- 1 tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 tsp fenugreek seeds
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp mustard oil
Method of preparation
First of all, wash raw mango and green chillies thoroughly and dry them completely. Now add mango pieces and green chillies in a big vessel. Add mustard, fenugreek, turmeric, red chilli powder and salt to it.
Heat the mustard oil until it smokes slightly and let it cool slightly. After this, add oil to the mixture and mix well. Keep the pickle covered for about 30 minutes so that the flavors of the spices get mixed properly. After this it can be served with paratha, dal-rice, khichdi or any food.
Tips to make pickles more healthy
Experts recommend using fresh and seasonal raw mangoes. Keep the amount of salt as per requirement and use cold-pressed mustard oil. Roasted fennel can be added to enhance the taste. Always store pickle in clean and dry glass jars to retain its freshness.
