Adani Defense Buys FSTC: INR 820 Cr Deal Boosts Pilot Training in India
Adani Defense Systems has significantly expanded into the aviation training sector by acquiring a majority stake in FSTC. This 820 crore deal will strengthen simulation, flight training, and defense training facilities, thereby increasing India’s capacity to produce skilled pilots.
Adani Group: Adani Defense Systems recently bolstered its presence in the aviation sector by acquiring a majority stake in Flight Simulation Technique Center (FSTC). The enterprise value of this deal is reported to be INR 820 crore. This acquisition is considered a significant step for the Adani Group towards training and skill development in both civil and defense sectors.
Adani Defense Systems and Technologies Limited (ADSTL), in collaboration with Prime Aero Services (PAS), has acquired a majority stake in FSTC. This move clearly indicates the group’s investment direction in aviation, defense, and high-tech training infrastructure. This deal not only reflects the Adani Group’s expansion strategy in the aviation sector but will also enhance the standards and capacity of training services in India.
FSTC Gains Global Recognition
Flight Simulation Technique Center is India’s largest independent flight training and simulation company. It possesses 11 advanced full-flight simulators and 17 training aircraft. FSTC has received certification from DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) and EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency). These certifications have given global recognition to the company’s training standards.
FSTC’s simulation centers are located in Gurugram and Hyderabad, with plans to further expand their capacity. Following this acquisition, the Adani Group will possess a comprehensive network with modern facilities in the training sector.
Practical Training Provided by Flying Schools
In addition to simulation, FSTC also operates flying schools in Bhiwani and Narnaul, Haryana. These schools train commercial and defense pilots, thereby preparing skilled aviation professionals for India. The schools are equipped with modern training equipment and flight simulators, ensuring pilot safety and efficiency.
This acquisition holds particular significance for the Adani Group as it enables the group to provide pilot training and mission rehearsal services in both civil and defense sectors.
Adani’s Grand Plan
According to Adani Enterprises, simulator-based training presents a significant opportunity in the field of defense pilot training. This method reduces training costs and enhances safety and efficiency. Ashish Rajvanshi, CEO of Adani Defense & Aerospace, stated that this acquisition is the natural next step in the group’s strategy to build a fully integrated aviation services platform.
With the inclusion of FSTC, the Adani Group can now simultaneously provide civil aircraft maintenance, general aviation MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul), defense MRO, and flight training services. This move will prove crucial in the group’s expansion plans for the aviation and defense sectors.
Benefits for India’s Aviation Sector
In the coming years, India’s airlines are expected to acquire over 1,500 aircraft, which will lead to an increased demand for certified pilots. The partnership between FSTC and Adani will strengthen the pilot training network and prepare skilled aviation professionals for the country.
Furthermore, the government’s emphasis on advanced training and mission rehearsal for defense pilots is creating new opportunities in military simulation and training services. Through this acquisition, the Adani Group will help train the next generation of Indian defense pilots and contribute to realizing the national security vision.
