IndiGo Crisis: Air India has said that in view of the major problems being faced by passengers across India, Air India and Air India Express have announced several steps to help the stranded people reach their destination.
Air India said that from December 4, a fixed limit has already been imposed on economy class fares in domestic non-stop flights. Its purpose is that due to the automated revenue management system, fares should not increase too much according to demand and supply. Additionally, Air India and other airlines are also in the process of complying with the new fare norms issued by the Civil Aviation Ministry on December 6.
Special discount on cancellation fees
Air India and Air India Express have given special discounts on change or cancellation fees for booking domestic flights, so that passengers can get more convenience. Passengers who have booked tickets till December 4 on any airline for travel till December 15 can change their tickets to any other date without paying rescheduling fee. If you wish, you can also cancel the ticket and get full refund without any cancellation fee.
Air India said that this facility is for one time and will be applicable only on changes or cancellations made till December 8. If passengers change the date of their flight and there is a difference in the new fare, they will have to pay that additional fare.
Additional staff and resources deployed
Air India said that passengers who want to change or cancel their booking using this one-time discount can do so by calling the 24×7 contact center of any airline or through any travel agent present around the world. Additionally, to respond to the high call volume and respond quickly, Air India and Air India Express have deployed additional staff and resources at their help centres.
Air India and Air India Express are making more and more seats available on all flights on their large network. Both the airlines are also ensuring that passengers and their baggage reach their destinations as soon as possible. For this, additional flights are also being run on some special routes.
