According to sources, this new VRS scheme of Air India may affect around 2100 employees. Air India currently has 11,000 employees.
New Delhi: Tata Group after taking over Air India made many changes in the company. Efforts were made to improve everything from online ticket booking, cabin crew training, crew attire, to improving catering services. Now Tata Group has announced Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) (VRS) for Air India’s non-flying i.e. ground staff. Tata Group has announced VRS scheme for Air India employees for the second time.
Tata Group is trying to restore Air India to its former glory. Air India had also placed an order for 470 aircraft a few days ago to expand its services globally. Apart from this, recruitment of 4,200 cabin crew and 900 pilots has also started. Now they have announced VRS.
