Delhi airport News: An Angolan woman has been caught at the Delhi International Airport who had hidden cocaine worth Rs 7 crore in 34 capsules in her stomach. This information was given in an official release issued on Thursday.

According to the release, the woman was caught on July 2 when she reached Indira Gandhi International Airport from Doha.

A release issued by the Customs Department said, “During the search of a passenger, eight egg capsules were found from him. The female passenger told the officers that she had hidden drugs in her stomach.

According to the statement, the passenger was taken to Safdarjung Hospital for medical procedure to remove the drug. “While admitted in Safdarjung, 34 capsules filled with drugs were taken out from the woman's stomach,” it said.

According to the release, a total of 515 grams of cocaine was hidden in these capsules (including the capsule recovered at the airport), whose value is estimated at Rs 7.04 crore. The accused passenger has been arrested and cocaine has been seized.

In another case, an Indian has been arrested from the airport for smuggling hashish worth Rs 1.2 crore. The passenger was caught on July 6 when he reached here from Bangkok via Sharjah. During the search of the passenger's luggage, customs officials recovered 2.4 kg of hashish from his bag, the release said. (Language)
