Surrender of more than 100 rebels of banned organization BRA in Balochistan
Quetta. More than 100 rebels of a banned organization demanding independence surrendered in Pakistan’s Balochistan. The name of this organization is Balochistan Republican Army (BRA). The BRA supports the demand for a separate state in the state along with other groups such as the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA). Pakistan Army said on Saturday that a senior commander was also among those who laid down their arms. This incident is being considered a major success for security and reconciliation efforts in the restive province.
According to the reports of Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune and Duniya News, the army’s public relations wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that apart from this, five rebels were killed in Dera Bugti on December 5 as part of the ongoing operation to eliminate the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Pakistan Army alleges that India helps TTP. ISPR has clarified that among those who surrendered in Sui of Dera Bugti, BRA’s Brahmadag Bugti faction commander Wadera Noor Ali Chakrani laid down his arms along with more than 100 former terrorists. The group hoisted the national flag and pledged to return to the mainstream.
According to the report, on this occasion Bugti appealed to other terrorists hiding in the surrounding hilly areas to give up violence and return to the mainstream of the state. Sui Town Chairman Izzatullah Aman Bugti praised the vision of the Balochistan Chief Minister. Officials say bringing Chak Rani tribe members into the mainstream is a psychological blow to the BRA.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti congratulated the commander and all those who decided to return to a peaceful life. He said that this decision of Vadera Noor Ali Chakrani and more than 100 of his colleagues is commendable. He said that this is a clear message that the state has never closed the doors of dialogue.
Meanwhile, The Balochistan Post has claimed in its report that Jafar Express and Bolan Mail have once again been canceled citing security reasons. Both the trains were canceled as soon as they reached Jacobabad. According to railway officials, this decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of passengers. The situation is being reviewed. As soon as the situation becomes normal, they will be informed about the resumption of railway services.
