Akhilesh raised questions on SAR process

New Delhi. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav, while participating in the discussion on electoral reforms in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, said that the Commission should be impartial and misuse of power administration should be stopped. He supported the demand of Congress to change the appointment process of election commissioners and to conduct voting through ballot papers instead of electronic voting machines.

The SP leader gave the example of various by-elections held in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha today and alleged that vote robbery took place in all of them. Questioning the impartiality of the Election Commission, he said that from our side all types of evidence were given to the Commission and information was given on time but still no action was taken against anyone. He especially raised the issue of Rampur Lok Sabha elections.

Akhilesh raised questions on the process of SAR and said that the real intention of the government is to prepare NRC (National Citizenship Register) in the country under its pretext. For this reason, Bharatiya Janata Party is talking about infiltrators and detention camps are also being built. The SP leader also raised the issue of the alleged death of a booth level officer during the process of voter list updation and said that the BLO officers are under a lot of pressure.
