Ram Charan’s sports action drama ‘Peddi’ continues to perform well at the box office
Mumbai These days, there is an interesting competition between South and Bollywood films at the box office. Ram Charan’s sports action drama ‘Peddi’ continues to perform well, while Varun Dhawan’s romantic comedy ‘Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ has also been successful in drawing the audience to the theatres. Whereas Bobby Deol’s film ‘Bandar’ seems to be struggling on the earnings front. The box office figures of all three films have been revealed at the beginning of the business week.
According to trade reports, ‘Peddi’, released on June 4, did a business of Rs 12.05 crore on the fifth day i.e. first Monday. This includes earnings of Rs 10.40 crore from Telugu version, Rs 1.40 crore from Hindi, Rs 15 lakh from Tamil, Rs 7 lakh from Kannada and Rs 3 lakh from Malayalam. With this, the domestic net collection of the film has reached Rs 169.70 crore. The film has registered a gross collection of Rs 248.92 crore worldwide and is soon moving towards joining the domestic club of Rs 200 crore.
On the other hand, the earnings of Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde starrer ‘Hai Jawaani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ recorded a decline on Monday. The film did a business of Rs 3.50 crore on the fourth day, while its earning on Sunday was Rs 9 crore. With this the total box office collection of the film has become Rs 27.50 crore. Whereas Bobby Deol’s ‘Bandar’ has failed to bring the audience to the theatres. The film earned only Rs 30 lakh on the fourth day, after which its total collection has reached Rs 2.75 crore. Currently, ‘Peddi’ has the strongest dominance at the box office.
