  • Modi gave top priority to national interest without leave: Shah
  • Home Minister presented detailed report card of public welfare schemes and development
  • Opposition cornered government on employment, inflation, farmers and education system

New Delhi. On Tuesday, on the occasion of completion of 12 years of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the political atmosphere revolved entirely around the achievements of the government and the allegations of the opposition. On one hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP leadership presented before the country the achievements of service, good governance, poor welfare, infrastructure development and self-reliant India, while the Congress launched a scathing attack on the government over inflation, unemployment, economic mismanagement, paper leaks and farmers’ problems.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on social media platform X that in the last 12 years, inspired by the spirit of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, the country has made remarkable progress towards a strong and self-reliant India. Describing nation building as the result of service and dedication, he shared a Sanskrit Subhashit, in which welfare of the society and morality were described as the qualities of a truly intelligent person. The Prime Minister said that the government’s aim is to realize the resolution of Developed India-2047.

On this occasion, an exhibition based on the achievements of the Central Government in the last 12 years was inaugurated at the BJP headquarters. BJP President Nitin Naveen said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the country has written a new chapter of service, good governance and public welfare. He described poor welfare, women empowerment, farmers’ welfare, digital transformation and expansion of infrastructure as the major achievements of the government.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also described the government’s tenure as a balanced model of poor welfare and development.

He said that in the last 12 years, schemes like free ration to 80 crore people, permanent houses to crores of families, benefits of Ujjwala scheme, health insurance and rapidly developing road, rail and air connectivity have presented a new picture of the country’s development. Shah said that due to the government having clean intentions and keeping national interest paramount, India has become one of the fastest growing major economies of the world. Amit Shah said that Prime Minister Modi did not take a single day of leave in these 12 years and remained busy serving the country.

Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also wrote an article praising the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. Both the leaders described democratic stability, social inclusion, digital revolution, direct benefit transfer, expansion of infrastructure and India’s growing prestige on the global stage as major achievements of this era.

On the other hand, Congress termed the government’s claims as propaganda and accused it of failure on the economic front. Congress Research Department Chairman Rajeev Gowda and party leader Amitabh Dubey said in a joint press conference that inflation, unemployment and economic mismanagement have continuously increased in the country.

He alleged that the number of subsidized cylinders under the Ujjwala scheme was reduced, the rupee weakened, investment declined and employment opportunities did not increase at the expected pace. Congress described the incidents of unemployment among youth, challenges of MSME sector, problems of farmers and paper leaks in the education system as policy failures of the government. The party also raised questions on railway safety, inflation and economic management and said that the government should answer the growing distance between claims and ground reality.
