Sydney, Australian captain Tim Paine appeared on the fifth day of the third Test match played at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Monday, trying to do a continuous sledding (splashing) against Indian batsman Ravichandran Ashwin.
On the last day of the match, Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari were on the wicket to postpone India’s defeat and they drew the match after a valuable 62-run partnership.
But during Ashwin’s innings, Penn was repeatedly trying to distract Ashwin. In the 122nd over of the innings, Penn was heard saying something to Ashwin. His talk was captured in the stump mic.
In the video that is going viral, Penn is going to hear saying, you (from Ashwin) can’t wait for Gaba to come, Ash.
Ashwin responded by saying, “Can’t wait for you to come to India.” This will be your last series. Your teammates don’t like you either.
Chasing a target of 407 runs, India finally scored 334 for five in 131 overs, but with one over remaining in the match, both teams agreed to the draw.
Vihari scored an unbeaten 23 off 161 balls while Ashwin smashed an unbeaten 38 off 128 balls. Both spent around 42 overs for the wicket and shared a 62-run partnership for the sixth wicket to draw the match.
