Australian minister Tim Watts, an RCB fan, enjoys fanboy moment with Virat Kohli

New Delhi: Australia’s assistant minister of foreign affairs Tim Watts had a fanboy moment after he met Team India star Virat Kohli during the Indian team’s visit at the Parliament House on Friday. Kohli and the Indian team are currently in Australia for the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Watts took to Instagram to share a selfie with Kohli after his meeting and lauded the Indian cricketer.

Watts revealed in his post that he is a big Kohli fan and started supporting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to the star Indian batter. Watts said he loves watching Kohli play as he ‘plays like an Australian’. Kohli is one of the best batters of the present era and enjoys a massive fan base across the world, thanks to his unparalleled achievements on the field.

“A bit of a thrill to meet the Australian and Indian players in the PM’s XI game at Parliament House tonight. I told Virat Kohli that I support Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL because it’s the only opportunity I get to legitimately barrack for him. I give him the highest praise I can offer any international cricketer when I say that I’ve loved watching him play because he plays like an Australian. Just not when he’s playing AGAINST Australia of course,” Watts captioned his post on Instagram with a picture with Kohli.
