ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 update
New Delhi. An important change was seen in the points table of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 on Sunday, December 7. England suffered a crushing defeat in the Pink Ball Test match against Australia, as a result of which the England team has slipped down one place. The defeat has weakened England’s position, while Australia have retained their position by winning all five of their matches, with a win percentage of 100%.
Current position in the points table
Australia is on top with 60 points, while South Africa is at second place with 36 points, with a win percentage of 75%. At third place is Sri Lanka, whose win percentage is 66.67%. Pakistan is among the four teams, but has played only two matches, in which its win percentage is 50%. India are placed fifth with 52 points, but note that only the top two teams reach the final of the World Test Championship.
The England team has reached sixth place, with a win percentage of 30.95%. New Zealand have benefited from the result of this match and are now placed sixth, while Bangladesh and West Indies are placed eighth and ninth respectively.

World Test Championship finals
This is the fourth cycle of WTC going on. There have been three finals in this competition so far, of which New Zealand defeated India in 2021, and in 2023, Australia again defeated India in the final. Now in 2025, Australia had to face defeat from South Africa. The next final match will be held in 2027.
