‘People have recognized’, political storm in Dhaka before elections, Jamaat accused of ‘selling religious pills’
Bangladesh News In Hindi: Political excitement and tension is continuously increasing in Bangladesh ahead of the general elections proposed next year. Meanwhile, the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Monday launched an indirect attack on the radical Islamist party Jamaat-e-Islami, alleging that it was trying to mislead the public by using religion as a political weapon.
According to local media reports, BNP clearly said that the people of the country have now understood how a conspiracy is being hatched to garner votes by inciting religious sentiments.
real face now exposed
Speaking at a party program held in Dhaka, senior BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed said that with time people have recognized a party which has no policy, no ideals and no concrete plan for the nation. He said that this party is trying to deceive the public in the name of religion. Its real face has now been exposed.
Taking a jibe at the Jamaat, Salahuddin sarcastically said that some leaders were claiming that people could get ‘paradise’ by voting for their election symbol. He sarcastically said that those who want to reach heaven without effort should first find its bus station. The public is intelligent and understands these things full of lies.
killing millions of civilians
This statement of BNP has come at a time when allegations and counter-allegations are continuously increasing between the two parties. Earlier on Sunday, BNP acting president Tariq Rehman also accused Jamaat of spreading propaganda against him. He said that the people of Bangladesh know how during the liberation war of 1971, the Jamaat, in collaboration with the Pakistani Army, killed lakhs of civilians and tortured women for political gains.
Liars like ‘Guarantee of Heaven’
Addressing the program virtually, Tariq Rehman said that Jamaat is misleading the public with false promises like ‘guarantee of heaven’. He said that such things are being said on social media and various forums, due to which it appears that people are urging to give a chance to the Jamaat. But he stressed that the people of the country had seen this party in 1971 itself. Their hands are stained with the blood of innocent people, and the insult to many women by their associates can never be forgotten.
