The matter has become so sensitive that despite the restrictions of the administration and the matter being under consideration of the High Court, mass namaz was offered again in a private residence on 14 February, which has added fuel to the fire of controversy.

Mohammadganj has a unique tradition that neither a temple nor a mosque was ever built here. Both the communities had been living peacefully under a decades-old agreement. However, the spark of controversy ignited on January 17, when a complaint came to light about the alleged running of an illegal madrasa and offering of mass namaz in the house of a person named Haseen Mian. The Hindu side alleges that the Muslim society is adopting a ‘new tradition’ Is trying to start, which is a violation of the old agreement of the village. The tension increased to such an extent that some Hindu families, feeling pressured, ‘escape’ out of the house. Wrote warning messages.

However, the Muslim side argues that they are praying inside their homes, which is their constitutional right. Considering the seriousness of the situation, heavy police force has been deployed in the village under the leadership of SP South Anshika Verma. Police has clarified that at present there is no situation of migration and some people are spreading confusion to spoil the atmosphere. The administration has given a clear order that no new religious activity will be carried out until the court’s decision comes.
