Hyderabad skipper Tanmay Agarwal hit a brilliant century to keep his team’s hopes of victory alive against Assam in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
Tanmay Agarwal scored his 10th Ranji Trophy century
Tanmay Agarwal scored his 10th Ranji Trophy century in 47 first-class matches and also his second of the current season. Tanmay Agarwal single-handedly brought Hyderabad closer to the score of 250. Hyderabad’s score is 228 for 9 wickets till stumps on the third day.
The ongoing contest between Assam and Hyderabad has reached a very exciting stage. Assam had scored 205 runs in the first innings, in response to which Hyderabad scored 208 runs. In the second innings, Assam scored 252 runs and set Hyderabad a target of 250 runs.
Tanmay completed his century in 137 balls. Tanmay, playing his 48th first class match, has so far scored more than 3,000 runs in this format. He has also scored 10 half-centuries in this format.

Hyderabad players loose in batting
Hyderabad batsmen disappointed and could not bat with Tanmay Agarwal. Bhavesh Seth (41) and Budhi Rahul (28) looked good with the bat but their rush to execute big strokes cost them their wickets.
Coming to Assam, in the bowling department, spinners Riyan Parag, Sarupam Purkayastha and Gokul Sharma scalped wickets at regular intervals to keep Assam in the match. He bowled all over good line and length and often got extra bounce from the pitch.
Pacer T. Ravi Teja was impressive for Hyderabad during Assam’s second innings, taking five wickets.
