Bihar: 7990 new posts will be reinstated in health department

Bihar Government has decided to start one Medical College Hospital each at Saran and Samastipur besides creation of 7990 new posts to further strengthen the health services in the state.

The proposals to this effect have been approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers held here on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

In view of the need for creation of additional posts of dresser in 35 Sadar hospitals of the state, approval has been given to create a total of 210 posts. This will help in providing better medical facilities to the people at the local level. The state government will have to incur an additional expenditure of Rs.7 crore 35 lakh 30160 every year from the creation of these 210 posts of dresser.

The government has approved the establishment of Ram Janaki Medical College Hospital in Samastipur. There will be 100 MBBS seats in this college. For this, approval has been given to create 135 non-educational posts and 288 for Medical College Hospital i.e. a total of 423 posts. Approval has been given for creation of Department of Critical Care Medicine and Blood Transfusion in hospitals and creation of academic and non-academic posts.

Besides, approval has been given to create 2673 new posts in 17 government medical colleges and hospitals. A total expenditure of Rs 137 crore 78 lakh will be incurred on this. For recognition of enrollment of 100 MBBS students in Government Medical College and Hospital Chapra, according to the standard of National Medical Commission, 135 posts for academic and non-academic posts and 288 posts for hospital i.e. 423 new posts have been approved. .

Approval has been given to create 3990 floating posts for three years compulsory service under bond paper from students who have passed PG Diploma from Government Medical College of the state. With this, they will be designated as senior residents, tutors and specialist doctors in other medical institutions in the medical colleges and hospitals of the state. The total 3990 posts created will be divided into one third number for three years.

Apart from these, 10 departments including gynecological have been created in Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) as per the norms of National Medical Commission. Approval has been given to create a total of 229 posts of academic and non-academic for them.

The government has given approval on the proposal for creation of 39 posts of different categories and extradition of three posts in Bihar Drug Control Laboratory Agamkuan. An amount of Rs 34 crore 75 lakh has been provided by the Central Government to remove the regional offices of Drug Control Administration. In the light of this, a state share of 23 crores has been given by the state government, i.e. the total amount is 57 crores 89 lakhs available.

Technical Personnel Cadre Rules 2019 have been constituted for smooth operation of Bihar Drug Control Laboratory Agamkuan. After the formation of the new rules, there is a need to create some new posts. The three posts created earlier in the Drug Control Laboratory are no longer required at present. In such a situation, all three of those posts are extradited. Further decision regarding creation of other posts will be taken.
