New Delhi. The BJP, adamant on demanding an apology from former Congress national president Rahul Gandhi in London for the statements made by him, has now gone a step further and demanded action against those MPs as part of a new strategy to put pressure on the Congress. Who are continuously waving placards inside the House by going against the orders of the Chair and breaking parliamentary rules and conventions.

On Wednesday, two senior ministers of the central government, Piyush Goyal and Pralhad Joshi demanded strict action against the MPs who waved placards inside the House, even suspending them.

Union Minister Piyush Goyal stood up in the Lok Sabha and said that Rahul Gandhi has insulted the Parliament of India, he should apologise, amid uproar and sloganeering when the proceedings of the House began at 11 am on Wednesday. But if these MPs (those waving placards) do not find Rahul Gandhi’s statement an insult and are behaving like this inside the House, then they should be suspended from the House. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also gave a stern warning to the MPs who waved placards.

After the adjournment, when the proceedings of the Lok Sabha started at 2 pm, there was a demand from the government to take strict action against the MPs who once again waved placards. This time, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi stood up in the House amidst uproar and sloganeering, citing clear instructions from Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla that waving placards in the House is wrong and action should be taken against MPs who do so.
