'He will be the fastest bowler in the league and will be sad if he sits on the bench', Umran Malik expressed his pain.

The flamboyant Indian fast bowler Umran Malik, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir, is currently away from cricket but IPL 2025 is going to be very important for his cricket career. Malik, who is in the news for the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2022, has experienced both ups and downs in his professional career. After a successful season in 2022, he made his white-ball debut for the national team in the same year and has so far taken 13 wickets in 10 ODIs and 11 wickets in 8 T20Is.

Malik's performance declined since his debut for Team India. Over the next two years, he played only nine matches, taking just five wickets at an economy rate of 10.57 runs per over. Despite his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad reaching the final of IPL 2024, Malik played just one match and bowled just one over in the entire tournament.

Now with the mega auction scheduled to take place on November 24 and 25, Malik has registered himself with a base price of Rs 75 lakh and is hopeful that this IPL season will prove to be a crucial one for him. Malik also talked about his last IPL season during an interview and told that he was the fastest bowler in the league but despite this he had to sit on the bench for the entire season and it was very difficult for him.

Malik said in an exclusive conversation with Times of India.com, “Of course, if I have to sit on the bench, I will be disappointed. He is the fastest bowler in the league and if he sits on the bench, it will be disappointing, but when I return, Will give my 100% and take wickets for my team because we were winning. I don't think I will fade away. I am a player and injuries are an integral part of an athlete's career, I know that when I come back, I will play, I have full confidence in myself.
