Shatrughan Sinha got his first break in Dev Anand’s Prem Pujari but his first release was Saajan (1969). The film starred Manoj Kumar and Asha Parekh in lead roles. Shatrughan Sinha had a small role in Saajan. During the shooting of this film, there was a misunderstanding between Asha Parekh and Shatrughan Sinha that Bihari Babu had stopped talking to the actress. They finally resumed communication in 1973, and the friendship between the two continues to this day. But such an incident happened on the sets of this film, which made Shatrughan Sinha the enemy of time forever.

It so happened that Shatrughan Sinha was new, completely dedicated to the work. Saajan was directed by Mohan Sehgal. The shooting time was seven in the morning. Shatrughan Sinha used to reach the studio set at seven in the morning at the right time every day. But there was no trace of the senior stars of the film. They used to come till twelve in the afternoon. Shatrughan could not say anything. Can’t do anything. Seeing this helplessness of Shatrughan Sinha, the watchman there started laughing at him. Enraged by this, one day Shatrughan Sinha vowed that when he becomes a star, he would never reach the sets of his films on time. Whoever is working with him will wait for him.
