Material

  • 5 bread slices
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (almonds, cashews, pistachios)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method of preparation

Remove the edges of the bread slices and break the bread into small pieces. Heat milk in a pan and add lemon juice to it so that the milk curdles. When the milk curdles, strain it and separate the chenna. Wash the chenna with cold water and squeeze it well. Mash the chenna and bread pieces well and mix them. Make small balls from this mixture and keep aside.

Boil water and sugar in a pan. Add cardamom powder to it. Boil the syrup for 5-10 minutes, till it thickens a little. Put the prepared balls in the syrup and boil for 15 minutes. Take the rasgullas out of the syrup, sprinkle chopped nuts. Serve chilled. Bread rasgulla is a great way to use leftover bread and give it a new taste.
