Woman brutalized in Bundi, body branded with hot rods after calling her a witch
A soul-shattering case has come to light from Bundi district of Rajasthan. Here a woman was brutally accused of being a witch, her head was shaved and she was branded with hot rods. The beasts cut off the hair of the head, blackened the face and paraded it around the village. This case pertains to Bapji Devsthan, a hut in Khashahali of Hidonli police station area, where the victim had come for treatment.
Hidonli police station in-charge Pawan Meena said that the victim is a resident of Shahpura district and was suffering from stomach ache. Someone advised him that his illness would be cured by visiting Khashahali's temple. The woman had reached there with her son on 24 November.

Babulal Regar, Sonu Meena and Gauri Devi present there reportedly invoked the deity. After this he caught the woman and accused her of being a witch. The woman was branded with hot rods and the hair on her head was cut off. Then his face was blackened and he was paraded around the village.
Not only this, the victim was tied to a tree and kept at the temple for a day. Despite this, there was no improvement in his health, so the accused left him on the night of 25 November.

After this incident the woman has lodged a complaint in the police station. Police have registered a case against the accused and started raiding. This barbarity has once again drawn attention towards rural superstition and inhumanity.
