Burdwan district receives investment proposals worth Rs 4,650 crore in MSME sector
Besides this, the focus has also been on the second phase of the ambitious Durgapur Industrial Park spread over 27.32 acres at a cost of Rs 75.38 crore, said Hiranmoy Chaudhary, assistant manager of WBSIDC in Durgapur. “The second phase of the industrial park being built on 15.76 acres at Shaktigarh in East Burdwan at a cost of Rs 15.18 crore is almost complete and the state-of-the-art infrastructure will undoubtedly attract many MSME units soon,” the minister said. The minister said two state-aided private industrial parks are being developed over 43.40 acres at Andal in Durgapur, where 61 MSME units with an accumulated investment potential of Rs 150 crore are to be accommodated.
Kabi Dutta, Chairman, Asansol Durgapur Development Authority, proposed to the Minister in today's conference to set up a state-of-the-art Entrepreneurship Training Center in Durgapur to encourage prospective investors. He said: “We need to develop smart investors with future vision in the coming days and for this we need to train the youth.” The minister said that a total of 58 units in these two districts have got benefits under the Banglasree Incentive Scheme. Under the Bhavishyat Credit Card Scheme, an MSME initiative for unemployed youth with no educational barriers, a total of 4,757 loan applications have been approved by banks in these two districts for self-reliance till last November.
