According to the report of Health Insurance Index 2024, while cases of many diseases related to kidney disease are being found in Delhi-NCR, the cases of heart related diseases are increasing in Mumbai. Apart from this, kidney cases in Delhi are mostly seen in people aged 40-50. While claims for kidney health insurance were made in Delhi as well as Kochi, the names of Secunderabad, Bengaluru and Jaipur have appeared in this list. Kidney diseases are not only prevalent but huge bills are also being collected from the patients.

Recently it has also been revealed that 62 percent of the treatment bill has to be paid by the patient's family out of pocket. In many cases, people are forced to take loans and borrow money for treatment, while in many cases up to 23 percent of the hospital's expenses are paid by borrowing.

Reports have also come out regarding serious diseases like cancer in which it has been said that there has been an increase in the cases of cancer. Apart from this, a growth of 13 percent has also been predicted by 2020-2025.
