China is repeatedly criticizing India. After Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, now China has started operation on the border of Uttarakhand as well. China is building more new villages within its borders like the boatmen adjacent to Uttarakhand. China has also started construction of new such villages near the border of Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh. Because of these villages, there is a possibility that the border issue will take a more serious form in the future and the threat to India’s security will increase further.
These new villages are being built on the border of China, 11 km away from the border with Uttarakhand. 55 to 56 new houses have been built at one place in the border area. These houses are 35 km from the border. But the entire area is under the control of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China. Hence, the development and other matters are closely monitored by the army. There is an intention to establish 400 new villages on the border with China. Due to which China plans to strengthen its hold in this border area. A 6 km long tunnel will be constructed on the road from Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand to the last outpost on the Indian border.
Drought threat in Indian region villages
Uttarakhand and China share a 350 km long border. There has been an increase in migration of people from the border villages of Uttarakhand to other cities or states within the Indian borders for employment. Due to this these villages have started drying up.
In contrast, China is building new villages in its border areas, where all basic facilities have been provided to the citizens.
India along the border with China has also started efforts to bring back citizens and live in existing Indian villages, providing them with adequate employment there.
