Accused of cow smuggling beheaded in the police station, 14 including district head of cow protection team arrested

A person traveling in a truck loaded with cattle was injured in the police station after his head exploded. On the statement of the injured person, Odhan police have registered a case against 14 people, including District President of Go Raksha Dal, Vinod Kumar, and arrested them. On Friday, the police produced all the accused in the court, from where they were sent to judicial custody. The police have also registered a case against the truck drivers under the Cruelty to Animals Act.

In Kalanwali, members of the Gau Raksha Dal had received information that a truck loaded with cattle was coming from Khanna in Punjab. As soon as the truck reached the Odhan police station area, the members of the Goraksha Dal informed the Odhan police. The police stopped the truck and brought it to the police station. Party members also reached the police station. When the police searched the truck, 10 cows and three calves were found in it, which the police took to the gaushala. When the police brought the three accused riding in the truck to the police station, a member of the Gau Raksha Dal broke the head of the accused Rais with a baseball bat in the police station premises. Raees, who was injured in the attack, has been admitted to the hospital. Police have registered a case against 14 members of Gau Raksha Dal on the statement of the injured. Police have registered a case against Rais and Devendra Kumar of village Bilaspur (UP) and Sanjeev Lamba of Delhi on charges of animal cruelty on the statement of a member of Gau Raksha Dal.

Additional police force was deployed at the police station

According to the injured Rais, he was on his way to Maharashtra from Punjab with 10 dairy cows and three calves when members of the Go Raksha Dal attacked him. Police have registered a case against Vinod Kumar, Jaspal, Jaspreet Singh, Deepak, Rohit, Sanjeev Kumar, Gurdeep and Aaraf Khan, Sameer and Vikas of Mandi Dabwali, Daljit Singh of Bathinda and Sunny, Rahul and Dharmendra of Fazilka.
