Mix Vegetable: Mixed vegetable soup prepared from spinach, mint, beetroot, bottle gourd, tomato, amla and ginger is rich in iron, phosphorus, and vitamins B, C, and D. It is beneficial for jaundice, liver, constipation, increasing appetite and eyes. However, it should not be taken if there is skin disease and swelling in the body. High blood pressure patients should not use salt while making it.
Bottle gourd: Bottle gourd contains carbohydrates, iron, vitamin B and minerals. Since it is light, it is helpful in treating heaviness in the stomach, loss of appetite or liver related problems. It is also a bile reliever and blood enhancer. It can be given to any person.
Pinda-Amla: Made from hard dates and amla, this soup is rich in iron, minerals and vitamins C and D. It is helpful in removing physical weakness, heart disease and eye weakness. It should not be taken in case of diarrhea or indigestion.
Right way: Soup should always be taken before meals. If you are taking it in the morning, drink after breakfast. Drinking soup on an empty stomach can be harmful to health. One should not drink milk or tea for one hour before or after taking it, as it may cause acidity or other problems in the stomach.
Keep in mind: Always drink soup after making it fresh. Do not drink soup that is more than a day old, as there is a risk of bacteria growing in it. Always drink hot soup and do not use butter, ghee, oil or other greasy substances while making it, otherwise it can lead to obesity.
