Importance of curd for summer

Curd contains rich amounts of protein and calcium, hence it is included in weight loss diet. The probiotics present in it strengthen the digestive system and make the stomach feel full for a long time. Today we will tell you about two simple and delicious recipes made from curd, which can help in improving digestion in summer.
Boondi Raita: An easy cooling dish
Boondi Raita is a light and cooling dish in summers. Thick curd and slightly soaked boondi are used in this. It is not only delicious but also beneficial for digestion and can be easily consumed with everyday meals.
Material
- 2 cups thick curd
- 1½ cups roasted boondi
- 1½ tsp roasted cumin powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped mint
- salt as per taste
- 2 spoons water as required
Method of preparation
Beat the curd well in a bowl so that it becomes smooth. If the curd seems too thick, add some water to adjust its consistency. Soak the boondi in lukewarm water for 2-3 minutes and then press it gently to remove the water. Add soaked boondi to curd and add roasted cumin powder, black pepper and salt to it. After mixing well, add green coriander and mint on top. Keep it in the fridge for about 20 minutes and serve it chilled.
Kadhi Pakoda: Rich in taste and nutrition
Kadhi Pakoda is a delicious and light dish, which is made from curd and gram flour. The probiotics present in curd are beneficial for digestion, while gram flour is considered a good source of protein. Kadhi made with light pakodas is delicious to eat and does not feel heavy on the stomach.
Material
- 1 cup thick curd
- 2 spoon gram flour
- 3 cups water
- 1½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1½ cups gram flour batter (for making pakodas)
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander
- 1 tbsp oil
- salt as per taste
Method of preparation
Beat curd and gram flour well in a bowl so that there are no lumps in it. After this, prepare a smooth solution by adding water to it. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and grated ginger. Then add curd mixture into it and keep stirring continuously so that lumps do not form. Now add turmeric and salt to it and let it cook on low flame, until the curry becomes a little thick. To make pakodas, prepare a slightly thick batter of gram flour and cook small pakodas in the air fryer for 5-7 minutes. Put the prepared pakodas in the curry and let it cook for about 5 minutes. Finally add green coriander on top and serve hot.
