A1 or A2 Milk? Know which milk is better for health and what is the big difference between the two?
Nowadays there is a lot of discussion in the market about A1 and A2 milk. Health conscious people are no longer limited to just drinking milk, but also want to know which milk is more beneficial for their health. From social media to health experts, the debate on A1 vs A2 milk is raging everywhere. In such a situation, the biggest question in the minds of people is what is the difference between the two and which milk is considered better.
According to experts, the main difference between A1 and A2 milk is the beta-casein protein present in it. A1 milk contains A1 beta-casein, while A2 milk contains only A2 beta-casein. According to research, during the digestion of A1 protein, a bioactive compound called BCM-7 can be formed, which has been linked to stomach problems in some people.
Health experts say that many people experience problems like gas, flatulence, heaviness or indigestion after drinking normal milk. Some studies claim that A2 milk may be relatively easier to digest and may reduce stomach problems. However, scientists also clarify that more research is still needed on this topic.
According to experts, the milk of many indigenous cow breeds of India like Gir, Sahiwal and Tharparkar breeds is mainly considered to be A2 type. Whereas A1 protein is found more in the milk of foreign breeds like Holstein and Friesian cows.
Doctors say that the demand for A2 milk is increasing rapidly in the market. Many people are buying it considering it as a “healthy option”. According to reports, the A2 milk market may grow rapidly in the coming years as people are now giving priority to better digestion and healthy lifestyle.
However, experts caution that A2 milk should not be viewed as a miraculous health drink. Calcium, protein and essential nutrients are present in both types of milk. If a person has a milk allergy or severe lactose intolerance, drinking only A2 milk is not guaranteed to completely eliminate the problem.
According to health experts, if you feel gas, swelling or discomfort in the stomach again and again after drinking normal milk, then A2 milk can be tried after consulting the doctor. For those people who do not have any problem with milk, normal milk is also considered a good source of nutrition.
At present, the debate is going on regarding A1 and A2 milk, but the opinion of experts is clear that any milk should be chosen on the basis of one’s health, digestive capacity and doctor’s advice. Correct information and balanced diet is considered the key to better health.
